Many hunters don't hesitate when it comes to spending time and
money on buying a new shotgun, training a dog or finding the right
place to hunt.
But how much effort do we put into honing our shooting skills?
When Rich Nemitz posed that question, I could see he had a point.
Nemitz, of Hartland, is the Wisconsin Sporting Clays Association's
1996 state champion. He invited me to join him and Brian Johnson
of Pewaukee, a certified sporting clays instructor, in shooting a
round of sporting clays recently at the McMiller Sports Center, near
Eagle in Waukesha County.
Sporting clays, which originated in England, has become popular
