Fall isn't only about football. A fresh professional theater
season approaches and, like looking forward to big games on the
schedule, we can spot some intriguing productions that promise
exciting artistic challenges.
Of course, just as in football, there are no guaranteed wins. The
Packers and a theater company may stub their toes when we least
expect it. But here are the expected highlights of the professional
theater season through the end of 1996.
British playwright Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" is a comedy of ideas
that makes the assumption the audience is intelligent. Set at an
