Do not expect federal approval of Wisconsin Works (W-2) when the public comment period on the state's sweeping welfare plan ends Wednesday, the state's top welfare administrator says.

Despite political pressure to make quick work of Wisconsin's proposal to require work for welfare benefits, federal and state bureaucrats are likely to keep ironing out details of W-2 until later this month, according to Jean Rogers, who runs welfare programs for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
