The property tax rates in Brookfield, Muskego and Delafield are
among the lowest of all cities in the state, according to a study by
the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance.
On a list of the Wisconsin cities with the lowest tax rates,
Brookfield ranked second with a rate of $20.81 per $1,000 of
equalized value.
Muskego, with a rate of $24.19, and Delafield, with a rate of
$24.34, ranked seventh and ninth lowest, respectively.
The only city in the state with a tax rate lower than Brookfield
is Mequon, where it's $20.23.
The statewide average tax rate for cities is $29.64 per $1,000 of
equalized value. The average tax rate for all state municipalities
