Shards of glass seemed to protrude from a woman's stomach as she
lay on the floor waiting for medical help. Nearby, a man apparently
had a large piece of wood sticking out from his shoulder.
An imaginary car bomb had "exploded" in front of the Service
Occupations building at Waukesha County Technical College at 9:55
a.m. Sunday, fictitiously killing about five people and injuring
about 35 others.
Members of the U.S. Army and Navy Reserves, the Wisconsin National
Guard and the New Berlin Fire Department responded during the Major
Accident Response Exercise, designed to test the capability of the
Armed Forces and civilian medical teams to handle a major accident
in Waukesha County.
