Realignment, better known as the issue that won't go away, is
back.
On Tuesday, the Slinger school district took the Wisconsin
Interscholastic Athletic Association to Washington County Circuit
Court with the hope of getting an injunction against the realignment
plan for southeastern Wisconsin that is scheduled to take effect at
the start of the 1997-'98 school year.
Slinger alleges that the WIAA didn't follow its guidelines
proximity, comparable programs and size in deciding where to place
the school in its new conferences. Circuit Judge Richard Becker
heard the case and expects to have a decision some time next week.
