Article: Cancer society warns about red meat and alcohol

Just as martinis and steaks seem to be making a comeback, the American Cancer Society, in guidelines released recently, warned that eating red meat and drinking even small amounts of alcohol could contribute to certain cancers.

The new warning, along with dietary recommendations, is more specific and tougher than those suggested by the society in 1991 and those published by the federal government last January.
