Proving that the market for sleaze is alive and well despite
the misgivings of a few, "The Jerry Springer Show" was picked up for
broadcast in Chicago a day after the station that hosts its taping
decided to drop the high-rated lowbrow talk show.
Chicago's NBC affiliate, WMAQ, announced Wednesday that it
would ask to be released from its contract to air the show, saying
in a statement that the decision came after "long and careful
analysis." But "Springer" was not homeless for long. The show's
