Despite the bustling traffic and gantlet of fast-food joints and
strip malls that greet those entering the city, West Bend offers a
serene and friendly, suburban lifestyle, one that's proving more
attractive to workers from Milwaukee.
"I'm a hometown person and I wouldn't leave West Bend. A great
deal of families are moving to West Bend to have the comforts of a
city, but also to have the peacefulness of the country life found in
the subdivisions," said Darlene Kremer of Hometown Realty, who grew
up in the Town of Barton.
Kremer began her real estate career 25 years ago and opened
Hometown Realty in December 1995. Most of the buyers coming to West
Bend are from Milwaukee, she said. ...
