The mutual fund industry likes to warn investors that past performance is no guarantee of future success.

Still, investors apparently are prepared to dismiss those warnings when it comes to Janus Worldwide Fund. They're buying shares of Janus' global stock fund as though there's no tomorrow.

A net $2.2 billion poured into the Janus fund last year, and a monthly record of $590 million flowed into the fund in January, the Denver-based company said. The fund's assets have more than doubled in the past year to $5.9 billion, up from $1.98 billion at the end of 1995. Janus Worldwide, managed by Helen Young Hayes, has the numbers at least over the past three years to support its popularity. ...
