The announcement that an association of cheesemakers wants to replace the National Cheese Exchange represents another blow to Wisconsin's reputation as America's Dairyland, the president of the exchange said Friday.

Richard Gould, president of the National Cheese Exchange, said efforts by the cheesemakers to find new cash markets are linked to a bill before the Legislature to regulate the exchange. The bill has been approved by the state Senate.
