The state Senate on Thursday approved a bill imposing state regulations on the controversial National Cheese Exchange in Green Bay.

Although only a small amount of all the cheese bought and sold in the United States is traded through the cheese exchange, exchange prices directly influence the price of cheese and the price farmers get for milk across the nation.
