Wisconsin's foster parents, fed up with being among the
lowest-paid in the nation, are taking their case to state
legislators today with a march on the Capitol.
Officials with the Wisconsin Federation of Foster Parents, sponsor
of the rally, say they have been contacted by many foster parents
who are "taking out of their own pocket and taking money from their
own children to provide for someone else's children," said
federation president Sue Ludeking, of Whitewater.
The march will begin at 10 a.m. at the Inn on the Park Hotel in
Madison. Foster parents and those who license foster homes then will
meet with legislators. From noon to 1 p.m., the foster parents will
