No one seemed to take the loss as hard as Mustangs coach Michael
Trigg, who stormed into the locker room, grabbed his bags and left
the Bradley Center scowling.
Maybe the players who escaped the locker room almost as quickly
were just as upset. Maybe the other guys reserved their venting for
later, say at the Summerfest grounds over a drink.
But this looked like another classic case of Mustangs complacency.
They go on a five-game tear, then come home for a two-game stretch
and lose first to Iowa and now, 47-40, to Arizona.
"It was almost a must-win situation," Mustangs offensive
specialist Mike Miller said. "We did need this win. It's all we
talked about all week. But, it happens."
