Beanie Babies heist: Toys stolen from truck

The theft of two cases of red-hot Beanie Babies from a Southridge Shopping Center loading dock has put delivery drivers on edge, an official with the trucking company that distributes the toys said Monday.

As demand for the plush toys has accelerated, the drivers worry that their trucks are being followed by either aggressive shoppers or thieves, said Don Gozzola, manager for Circle Delivery.

"Right now, they're (drivers) very concerned," Gozzola said. "We don't know how they found out that we haul them (Beanie Babies). Someone knows we're hauling them.
