An Oshkosh-area man who was injured in the crash of a
Milwaukee-based Air Force Reserve cargo plane in Honduras on Tuesday
worked as an aircraft mechanic for an Oshkosh aviation company whose
CEO and three other employees died last month in a plane crash.
Staff Sgt. Dean Ackmann, 32, of Omro, worked for Basler Turbo
Conversions until one year ago, said Randy Myers, production manager
for the company. Ackmann was an aircraft mechanic, painter and
parts fabricator for the firm, which restores airplanes.
"He's a very good worker, real dedicated, just an all-around super
nice guy," Myers said Thursday.
