After an emotional discussion, the Park & Forestry Board recommended accepting the Lions Club donation of a shelter in Centennial Park.

The board's 5-2 recommendation will go to the Common Council for final review.

At issue was whether the board should recommend that the proposed donation be placed in Centennial Park or Zeunert Park. Centennial Park neighbors say the park is too busy to add a shelter. Lions Club members told the park board that Centennial Park was their preferred location, but they would look at other options, including withdrawing their donation. Ald.
