Two 4-car accidents happened within minutes and mere feet of each other on Moorland Road Friday in a chain reaction that snarled traffic and sent four people to the hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was bumper-to-bumper for nearly two hours while emergency officials from three area fire departments tended to victims on both southbound and northbound Moorland Road in front of Sears at Brookfield Square, 115 S. Moorland Road.

Emergency officials shut down two of three lanes in both directions to work on victims and to clear debris, said Brookfield Deputy Fire Chief Colin Curtis. At least one victim had to be ...
