Vote after vote came before the Prince William County School
Board on Wednesday night at its last regular meeting before summer
break: new textbooks; new-teacher training; electric service
agreements; appointments of nominees; and a construction contract
for Brentsville District High School.
On each vote, the tally was the same: 8 for, 0 against.
It was typical, as the board has been nearly unanimous in its
actions the entire school year.
In the School Board's regular, bimonthly and several executive
sessions during the 1997-98 school year, the board voted unanimously
-- or at least had no dissenting votes -- 230 out of 243 times, or
