Article: West Bend assessments now at full market value

City residents can expect their assessment notices Friday.

City Assessor Paul Koller said Monday that before the 1997 evaluations, residents were assessed at about 78% of full market value. The new assessment will reflect 100% of the market value as of Jan. 1, 1997.

Koller said the revaluation will redistribute the existing tax burden so "that all property owners pay their fair share of the tax levy based upon the market value of their property." The last citywide ...
