Pocho's Dream Girl, running heavier and faster than she did
this winter, added a stakes win to her portfolio by taking the
$35,000 Gala Lil Stakes today at Pimlico.
Now 4 years old, Pocho's Dream Girl won three of her first
four career starts. But the Florida-bred filly didn't visit the
winner's circle this winter while running at tracks in her home
state. At the end of the racing season at Gulfstream Park, Robert
Masterson nevertheless acquired the 3-year-old filly for $100,000,
then promptly shipped her up to a rural spread in Colt's Neck, N.J.,
for a lengthy period of rest, relaxation and rations.
