Michael Richards, the manic neighbor Kramer on NBC's "Seinfeld,"
won best supporting actor in a comedy series at Sunday's 49th annual
Primetime Emmy Awards.
"To Jerry and Julia and Jason, what a pleasure to be working with
such a sound ensemble," Richards said, complimenting co-stars Jerry
Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander as he claimed the
night's first honor.
Kristen Johnston, a 1985 graduate of Whitefish Bay High School
who plays an alien visitor to Earth in "3rd Rock from the Sun," was
honored as best supporting actress in a comedy series.
"I knew I should have prepared something," said Johnston, a winner
