A rolling stone won't gather moss but a roving theater director
is sure to come home with a load of ideas.
For an example take the production of Agatha Christie's "Ten
Little Indians," playing at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha.
Some time ago, Carol Dolphin, UW-Waukesha's theater director, saw
Frank Langella's "Dracula" and was struck by the production's gray
and black motif.
Some time later, she attended a performance of Christie's "The
Hollow" at the Canadian Shaw Festival. The setting was black and
gray with touches of red. During the performance talkback, the
producers admitted they had borrowed Langella's color scheme.
