More than 50 readers sent recipes for Clara L. Hohl, Milwaukee,
who requested a recipe for cheesecake made with baker's cottage
cheese that originated from Blochowiak Dairy Co., once located at
2934 S. 9th St. in Milwaukee.
They sent three different cheesecake recipes as well as recipes
for cheese dainties and cheese slices. Many of the recipes received
were on the original pastel-colored cards the readers received years
ago from Blochowiak employees, who made home deliveries. All of
them included baker's cheese, which had been difficult to find in
the Milwaukee area in recent years. Fortunately for fans of these
recipes, several area stores have resumed stocking this product.
