Audrey A. Warner, Milwaukee, and Rena Safer, Glendale, sent
recipes for Lovice Becker, who wanted a gelatin dessert in which
whipped evaporated milk was used.
Warner said she has been making her torte, which includes
strawberry gelatin, since 1948.
Audrey's Pink Velvet Pie16 graham crackers, finely crushed
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted1 package (3 ounces)
strawberry gelatin1/2 cup boiling water1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk, undiluted,
