Article: MPS adds a deputy superintendent position Ex-principals promoted to 2 posts in one of Brown's first personnel moves

At a time when a Milwaukee Public Schools committee is examining ways to drastically reduce the bureaucracy at the district's central office, the School Board Wednesday night voted to add an additional deputy superintendent to help run things.

Two well-known former principals were promoted to the $107,213 per year posts, marking one of the first personnel moves by new Superintendent Alan Brown. One will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former acting superintendent Barbara Horton; the other will fill the newly created position.
