Article: HUD Official, Journalist G.L. Norris Dies at 85; Worked as Writer For Times Herald

George Lawson Norris, 85, a retired public relations officer with the Department of Housing and Urban Development who also was a former journalist and association executive, died of a heart ailment May 8 at his home in Arlington.

Mr. Norris came to Washington in 1941 to join the news staff of the Washington Times Herald newspaper. He served with the Army in Europe during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star, before returning to the Times Herald as a court reporter.
