Last night the Washington Capitals stole a point they probably never should have gotten close enough to smell, not after they started the game with little intensity and finished it with key injuries to an already-depleted defense. Yet stellar play from goaltender Olaf Kolzig, bad touches around the net from Montreal and gut-check play from the Capitals in the third period still gave Washington a point in a 2-2 tie with the Canadiens at MCI Center.
