Continuing its mission to warn consumers about dangerous
products and remove them from store shelves, the U.S. Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced these product recalls
today:
Baby Monitors: Baby monitors aren't supposed to smoke, so
Gerry Baby Products has recalled 86,000 rechargeable "Clear Choice"
monitors that reportedly do. Their defective battery packs can short
out and cause smoke and flames -- a potential fire hazard.
The recalled monitor is model 618; the number can be found on
the silver plate on front of its AC adapter. The white monitors
(light blue accenting) sold from April 1996 to March 1998 at baby
stores and mass merchandisers nationwide for about ...
