Article: Lakes vote finds little support for changes Majority of residents back current speed limits, hours on Big Cedar, Gilbert

In a show of hands, the majority of residents at a meeting of the Cedar Lakes Protection and Rehabilitation District board on Monday said they want the status quo.

Most of the 150 people who packed the Town Hall said they don't want the speed limits or hours of operation to change for any watercraft.

About 20 residents at the meeting raised their hands in support of change. The board is proposing speed limits on Big Cedar and Gilbert lakes be lowered from 35 mph to 10 mph by 7 p.m. during the week and to 10 mph by 6 p.m. on weekends.
