As four people remained hospitalized Thursday from an E. coli bacteria outbreak in northwestern Wisconsin traced to cheese curds, officials are still searching for the source of the bacteria.

The number of cases increased from 28 to 30 in Eau Claire, Chippewa and Clark counties.

Department of agriculture officials continued to search for the source of the bacteria and have concentrated their efforts on one Eau Claire-area dairy but have not been able to find the source.
