So broad and varied are the exotic flavors of the Pacific Rim
from Hawaii and Hong Kong to India and Indonesia that any cookbook
promising to deliver them is sure to find favor with more than a few
cooks. It is not surprising, therefore, that the husband-wife,
chef-photographer team of Hugh Carpenter and Teri Sandison should be
asked to go back to this well again and again and yet again. First
for them was their award-winning "Pacific Flavors" (Stewart, Tabori
& Chang, 1988). Next came "Chopstix: Quick Cooking With Pacific
