Article: Boating hours extended on Big Cedar Lake But commissioners tighten rule for minors using personal watercraft

Commissioners for the Big Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District have adopted new boating regulations.

Lake residents were not allowed to comment during the board's discussion Monday.

At a public hearing in April, 150 residents voiced their concerns about the proposed changes. People can now water ski longer during the week, and commissioners extended operation hours for boats and personal watercraft one hour longer than the original proposal. But children younger than 16 will not be allowed to use personal watercraft without someone who is 18 or older.
