As federal officials arrive today to tour the damage left by last
week's flood, local officials said the torrential rains had caused at
least $38 million in damage, $13 million of that in Milwaukee and
Waukesha counties, and the figure was sure to grow.
Field representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
will tour the area today to assess and document the flood damage here
and in Sheboygan, which also was hit hard.
"So far, the total in Waukesha County is at $2.5 million, but
that's bound to change soon," said Jim Malueg, Waukesha County's
emergency government manager.
"It's way too early to tell" whether the county will receive
