Cheesemakers were back at work Tuesday at a northwestern Wisconsin
dairy that closed down after cheese curds produced at its facility
were blamed for sickening dozens of people.
Cloverleaf Cheese Inc. in the Chippewa County community of Stanley
received the go-ahead Monday from the state Department of
Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to resume producing
cheese.
"Everyone is glad to be at work," said Steve Muenich, company
co-owner. Muenich said four people were out of work for 13 days
while the dairy was closed.
Preparations were made Monday so production could begin Tuesday,
