With the promise of a fresh start before him, Dan Wilkinson has
pulled up stakes in his home state of Ohio, left the only National
Football League team he has known and transplanted his 313-pound
frame. What he hopes to find, as the latest and second-most
expensive addition to the Washington Redskins' ailing defensive
line, is nothing short of rebirth and his first realistic shot at an
NFL championship.
Wilkinson represents half of the boldest off-season move the
Redskins have made in years, coaxed east along with San Francisco's
