A wave of expectations will wash around Milwaukee's indoor soccer
franchise this season.
It's inevitable after the marvelous season experienced by the
Milwaukee Wave in 1997-'98, when it won its first National
Professional Soccer League title in 14 years.
Not only that, but goalkeeper Victor Nogueira won nearly every
major award handed out by the league, including most valuable player
in the regular season and in the championship series.
What can the Wave do for an encore?
It all starts Friday night at the Bradley Center when those
glittering NPSL title rings are handed out, a championship banner is
unfurled and the Wave meets the expansion Florida Thundercats.
