Dennis Krueger and his 14-year-old son, Dennis Jr., went shopping
for a high school Saturday morning and ended up at the south side's
Milwaukee Trade & Technical High School along with more than 100
other parents and students.
There, the Kruegers heard school officials tout the school,
including plans to replace the aging 94-year-old building with a
state-of-the-art $50 million school opening just in time to graduate
Dennis Jr. in 2002.
But school officials didn't have to convince Dennis Sr. of the
advantages of Milwaukee Tech: he and five brothers graduated from
the school then called Boys Tech in the 1960s.
