For the second consecutive year, Wisconsin will play host to a
national championship in golf.
In 1998, LPGA rookie sensation Se Ri Pak edged amateur Jenny
Chuasiriporn in a memorable playoff to win the U.S. Women's Open at
Blackwolf Run in Kohler.
This year, 144 of the nation's top club professionals will compete
in the 32nd Club Professional Championship at Whistling Straits in
Haven.
The CPC, run by the PGA of America, is scheduled for June 24-27.
Two Wisconsin professionals qualified for the CPC in regional
competition last year: Dave Spengler of Northbrook Country Club in
Luxemburg and Barry Linhart of Blue Mound Country Club in Milwaukee.
