Looking more than comfortable on the big stage, the top-ranked
Purdue Boilermakers shot down an experienced Louisiana Tech team,
77-63, in the NCAA women's basketball semifinals Friday night.
Purdue (33-1) used its terrific guard trio to turn back the
third-ranked Lady Techsters (30-3), who lost to the Boilermakers for
the second time this season. Senior guard Ukari Figgs sank 5
three-pointers and finished with 24 points, while senior running
mate Stephanie White-McCarty contributed 17 points.
The third member of Purdue's three-guard lineup, sophomore Katie
Douglas, added 15 points and eight rebounds.
A sellout crowd of 17,733, a California record for a women's
