Article: Classroom harmony Students sing praises of music in schools

Music teachers at Milwaukee's Audubon Middle School are not yet ready to sing the blues, but with so much of the public's attention resting on the value of tough math and science requirements, they and their students are ready to beat the drum for music education.

Audubon is one of a growing number of schools involved in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Arts in Community Education program under which symphony musicians go to schools to help integrate music into the curriculum.
