Mike McCarthy, quarterbacks coach for the Kansas City Chiefs the
last four seasons, is the new quarterbacks coach of the Green Bay
Packers.
McCarthy, 35, follows in the footsteps of Steve Mariucci, Marty
Mornhinweg and Andy Reid, the quarterbacks coaches under Mike
Holmgren who went on to prominent positions with other teams after
their affiliation with Brett Favre.
"It's a great opportunity, obviously, with the type of player No.
4 is," McCarthy said. "Expectations can't be set any higher. I'm
here to do the job.
"There won't be any generation gap. I hear he's a joy to be
around and a joy to work with."
McCarthy agreed to a contract over the weekend and started work
