Because no major donor has come forward, the Change Ringers Guild
of Wisconsin has launched a drive to raise $200,000 for a proposed
bell tower in the village to showcase eight large bronze bells cast
in England four years ago.
The state group will present its fund-raising plans Tuesday to the
Village Board. Most of the group's members live here. The board
already has donated $65,000 for the proposed tower in the village
park and given the group a July deadline for raising the rest.
"It seems like we are back to square one," said Roland Perschon,
who donated the bells to the village.
