Maybe a couple of times, Haywoode Workman admitted, he did
entertain thoughts of what to do next with his life.
He was, after all, 33 years old and it had been a long time two
years, four months and nine days, to be exact since he had last
stepped foot on a National Basketball Association court.
Still, something pushed him through the lengthy rehabilitation as
long as, really, a career for a lot of players to repair his damaged
knee.
"I wanted to give myself an honest chance of recovery to satisfy
myself," he said. "I never gave up. I thank God for that
mentality. Otherwise, I never would have gotten back."
The Milwaukee Bucks are likewise thankful for Workman's
perseverance. ...
