A $600 robot spits out balls onto six blue, refurbished table
tennis tournament tables where Donald Winze has started the area's
first Olympic Center for training table tennis players.
The center, in the gym at the Hickory Grove Community Center,
Sunny Slope Road and Cleveland Ave., is sponsored by the city's
Parks and Recreation Department.
Winze, 55, of New Berlin, a nationally certified Olympic coach
and table tennis umpire, has won numerous area tournaments. He will
operate the center Saturday nights from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
"Where else could somebody come on a Saturday and get coaching
and training for table tennis for $4?" he asked.
