The Ozaukee County Fair isn't moving anywhere, and it certainly
isn't moving to the Washington County fairgrounds.
Several Ozaukee County officials expressed surprise when they
learned that Ozaukee County Supervisor Glenn Stumpf had made an
inquiry about such a possibility.
"Shocked is more like it," said Pat Steffen, secretary of the
Ozaukee County Agricultural Society, which runs the fair.
"This is the almighty hot day shocker," Ozaukee County Supervisor
Rose Hass Leider said after she learned of the inquiry. "We just
spent a small fortune on (new) buildings."
Steffen said she learned about Stumpf's inquiry at the
Agricultural Society Liaison Committee meeting last week.
