When Felicia and Alex Mayfield were making wedding plans four
years ago, they turned to Carter Creations, a name that has become
synonymous with weddings in Milwaukee's black community.
Located at 1727 W. Hampton Ave., the company owned by Georgella
and Josh Carter specializes in floral arranging, photography,
invitations and prop rentals for weddings. It is believed to be the
only one-stop wedding shop in the central city.
"We service the whole wedding. We decorate the church, deliver
the props and set up the night before," said Georgella Carter. "If I
have to stay up all night, I will, because the wedding must go on."
