A Madison company wants to develop a Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites
with up to 156 rooms near Mitchell International Airport in what
would be the latest in a series of new hotel projects near the
airport.
Great Lakes Cos. has submitted preliminary plans to the Department
of City Development for the hotel, which would be at the southeast
corner of W. Layton Ave. and S. 6th St., said Eric Lund, Great Lakes'
senior vice president of sales and marketing.
The full-service hotel would include a restaurant, swimming pool
and banquet facility, Lund said. It would replace the former Holiday
Inn at 6331 S. 13th St., he said.
