A private board much like the one that runs Summerfest should
operate State Fair Park and move it toward becoming a year-round
family entertainment center, business and government leaders urged
Friday.
The State Fair Board also needs to hire experts, such as those who
design theme parks, and put them to work on a master plan that will
breathe new life into the long-neglected fairgrounds, the leaders
said.
Some of the groundwork has already been laid.
The Holiday Folk Fair announced last week that it would hold its
