Article: Canoe trip to the `end of the world' is realization of a dream for couple Eighteen-month journey, begun last week, will take them to Arctic Ocean

Charly Ray and Julie Buckles have set on an adventure they both had been dreaming of for a long time: paddling 2,700 miles north to the Arctic Ocean.

They started the 18-month journey last week near the mouth of the Sioux River, just a mile from their home in Bayfield County.

"To me it seems logical to leave from your house and paddle to the end of the world," Ray said. "Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like if you just walked out your front door and started walking? Well, this is the non-road version of that."
